AIR CARGO CHINA BIGGER THAN EVER BEFORE
Air Cargo China, the air freight industry’s biggest event in Asia, will be tak-ing place from June 14 16, 2016 as part of transport logistic China at the SHANGHAI NEW INTERNATIONAL EXPO CENTRE. Bookings for Air Car-go China are already excellent with more than 20 per cent more space compared with 2014.
In achieving this result, Air Cargo China is defying the turbulent times the air freight industry is currently experiencing. Load factors are still falling because of overcapacity, thereby putting pressure on yields. When one looks to the future however, things appear positive. Freight tonne kilometers increased by 2.7 per cent in January 2016, making January the strongest month since April 2015.
Even if the volatile world trade situation and the weaker Chinese economy are creating uncertainties for the air freight sector, the “pharmaceuticals”, “perishable goods” and special transport sectors are developing very well. Demographic change and rising incomes in the Asian region are driving the consumption of perishable goods year in, year out. Notwithstanding the uncertainties in the Chinese economy, experts foresee further growth in 2016 as well.
For the next three to four years, professionals are anticipating the progressive implementation of a free-trade agreement between Australia and China. This will further boost the transportation of perishable goods between the two countries.
From a strategic standpoint therefore, the timing of Air Cargo China 2016 is perfect for initiating important business transactions in this growth markets and developing contacts.
5,000 square meters of Hall E 1 of the SHANGHAI NEW INTERNATIONAL EXPO CENTRE is where all the Asian markets’ decision-makers will be meeting and finding out about the trends in the air freight sector – both at the exhibition and the accompanying conference. For the first time the accompanying confer-ence will be taking place over the entire period of the exhibition and dealing with the most important economic issues affecting the air freight sector. Visitors will thus benefit from the synergies with transport logistic China, taking place at the same time.
Malaysian airline AirAsia Berhad will be exhibiting at Air Cargo China for the first time – and with the biggest stand. Oman Air and Airports of Maritius will be cele-brating their first-ever involvement in 2016. Numerous important key players such as Air China Cargo, Emirates Skycargo, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways Cargo, Saudi Cargo, Sky Team Cargo, TNT Airways, Turkish Cargo have also already registered.
A strong Luxembourg presence is an additional highlight. Both Cargolux Airlines and Wallenborn Transports will have a large stand at the exhibition. The Grand Duchy will also be taking part with a joint stand involving its Ministry of the Economy.
The Air Cargo Week World Air Cargo Awards in nine categories will also be presented on June 16. The event will be taking place in a formal setting and is the global air freight sector’s biggest and most important ceremony.
